Farewell-cum-christmas night

"Sayonara.. Sayonara.."

"We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas.."

Praise God aa.. Finally the sem has come to its end. As usual, we had a farewell night last Wednesday. But this sem was slightly different than the previous ones because for the first time, we celebrated 'Becoming Christmas Night' in COP Tronoh, on the same night as the farewell night. Thank God I was given the chance to be one of the event committees, and was in the event-flow department - handling games, performances, flow of the night etc..

On this special night, we only ordered two big trays of fried rice and fried noodle, the rest of the dishes were prepared by our CGs. Wow, the food that night was awesome! Praise God aa.. (n_n)

The event started with dinner at about 6.30pm. Then we had some gamesplanned and organized by Raymond. We were asked to find an adjective starting from the first letter of our name. Well, hehee.. Praise God aa, mine was 'skilful Stephanie'. But!! Suddenly someone (obviously it's the game organizer) asked if everyone heard what I said, and he repeated it as 'squirrel Stephanie'.. T_T.. Well, lol.. No offense, of course. Then another memorable game we played was 'the Poison Box'. It's like passing around a box which contained different instructions (mostly meant to make fun of people) in a big circle as the music continues playing. I remember William Wan purposely held the box for so long till we who controlled the music had no choice but to stop the music and give him the 'chance' to take a 'fortune paper' from the poison box (it was a harmless tissue box, anyway). But he was too lucky that all the instructions he got didn't cause him to be made fun of for even once! God bless him aa.. One more 'memorable' part : Gabriel sang solo for the first time! But too bad he didn't choose to sing 彩虹, instead he sang Negaraku! Oh man.. I really sweat..

Thus the game session was followed by two worship songs led by Melissa. Great aa! We then got the opportunity to enjoy all the performances prepared. Hehee.. This year didn't plan to perform any song, but praise God for the chance of being one of the representatives from girls' CG, performing Ngajat - a traditional dance of the Ibans (local ethnic in Sarawak). But the dance step we danced was actually a mixture of other local ethnic groups already. But still, it wasn't an easy performance. Thanks a lot to Ollivia for leading the dance performance.. Then we had Jesse performing violin and Raymond performing harmonica. Great performers yea! Then from Vinod's CG we had a short montage on the dish preparation processes of his CG members. All were very entertaining. Thanks a lot to everyone..

After that, we had farewell speech session by seniors who are to leave us soon for graduating as well as going for internship next semester. Praise God for all of them for being such great blessings to COP Tronoh. The farewell night ended with montage of memories and the flow was continued with Christmas night celebration.

"Ho ho ho ~ Merry Christmas ~ "

Actually we supposed to have santa. As shortlisted earlier by Aaron, (>_^) these people were - Joel, William Wan, Jesse and Kana. However, we ended up having no santa on that night. Hahahaa..

After singing two Christmas songs, we lighted up candles and sing a sentimental christmas song. It was really wonderful! Then we had the most exciting part - the Christmas-gift-exchange session.Erm, I still think that the way we distribute the gift to each person wasn't that effective on that night. But it's true that, as long as everyone had fun. The best part is, I didn't get any gift after the gift-exchange session. But I wasn't feeling unhappy also for that, because most importantly, I enjoyed the night well. Praise God aa..

There it went, we called it a day after the gift exchange session. After clearing and cleaning up the church, we went back and that night, I was really tired plus the next morning I was going to sit for 2 tests - Economics and IBIS - which i had not revised yet. Praise God aa.. In whatever situation.. T_T..

Seriously, thanks to all church members for the active participation that helped to make this event a great one! Praise God aa!

 Morning Walk With Jesus

Beautiful! Finally, we had our prayer walk early this morning. I planned to start at 6.30am. So I set my alarm to 5.30am. But because of the blessed naughty ears which were able to resist sound waves, I only woke up at 6.26am. Then busy calling few people to wake them up as well. By the time when I reached new V5 hut, yes I was late. Really feel quite sorry to my bro & sis who came on time.

We started at about 6.45am, with a praise and a prayer. We were 5 altogether. Though the number is not too large, but God is always with us I know. Then, we began to walk, from new V5 hut to V1D.

Praise God aa, the morning was wonderful! With the beautiful sun and the peaceful blue sky.. Wow, indescribable! God is LOVE! And He created all these because of His great love.

We prayed for few items: for unity, revival and salvation in the campus, and strength to start this new academic session after the mid-sem break.

Then we continued on to USM cafe for breakfast. Hahaa.. Again, we called it fellowship. Lol..

Actually, I think everyone of us should be excited for God. He is definitely working in this campus. What we need to do is to prepare ourselves in being strong and aligned to His will.

This is wonderful, bro & sis.. Should really be excited for God! Praise God aa.. God bless you all..

 Dinner at Kampung Bali

Praise God aa.. Hehee, our fellowship will always centre around food, food, and food.

So yesterday, God blessed us with a trip to Kampung Bali for dinner. We were altogether 15 people - 3 cars.

It's my first time going to Kampung Bali. And yesterday, I got to try the nice food there for the first time, too. We ordered 9 dishes which cost us for only about RM139. I did enjoy the food as well as the fellowship throughout the dinner. Though a meal costing about RM9.50 for one person is not considered cheap, but it would be nice to fellowship this way once in a while. Hahaa.. Why it sounds like our fellowship=makan? Hahaa..

Well, as usual, I was very excited. Don't know why but I am always very excited to gather together with this Household of Faith, hehee.. Praise God for giving me this wonderful 'family' in UTP. Love you all so much! God bless and take care yea..

 Annual camp to Cameron Highland

It was from the 27th to the 30th of September 2008..

I was told that the trip would take only for about 1 and a half hours. But after lunch, we reached Chefoo Methodist Church at about 2.30pm! ( We departed at 9.30pm like that ) That was seriously very long. But thank God I was fine throughout the trip up to our destination. Anyway, I wasn't very happy. I mean I'm excited for the camp, but somehow something pulled me down (something personal la..).

We stopped by one place for washroom, followed by another venue for lunch. But wow, the weather there was superb! Cooling plus sunshine.. Wow, God is great for He created this wonderful world! I ordered a glass of strawberry milkshake during lunch - tempted to do so le. But when I finally finished it, I wasn't feeling so well. I supposed it's because I drank that whole glass of cold stuff, mummy wouldn't have let me finish that alone.

Then there it went, we reached our destination. Started of by basketball game, it made my whole body ached till today le. But I enjoyed it a lot. Indeed I enjoyed well throughout the camp. Thanks to the organising committees. Well done brothers and sisters!

We were treated with great food there throughout that 4 days. I believe everyone enjoyed their meals there. Then we tried homemade scone there, too. Man, should have taken some pic from there la.. Sad.. Well it was strawberry scone, sold for RM3.50 each. But I like the shortbread more. It tastes about the same as my butter cookies. Ahahaa! That's my personal opinion la, really should try my butter cookies someday yea? Lol..

Through this camp, I get to know many people more, which before this only got to greet them "hello" and "bye bye". Really praise God for wonderful friends around me. Well, getting new friends means getting new nicknames, hahaa! I personally got 2 more new nicknames (I'm not gonna list them out here). But of course, there's no offense. It's just something to make our life more memorable. Hehee..

We also had a forum session with Pastor Gideon (our speaker for the camp) as well as Pastor Elijah and his team. Well, great questions were asked I guess, hahaa.. Very excited for this kind of session because it really does help us to grow more in God.

About our accommodation, we were quite satisfied for it also. Our dorms were great, nice double-deckers with comfortable mattresses. Praise God for that. They have water heaters fixed in the shower room also, but anyway we were still shivering when we bathed. Hahaa.. I remember how my shaking hand helped me brush my teeth without much effort, lol.. Seriously it was too cold.

Our speaker for this camp - Pastor Gideon - really managed to get many people keep themselves awake during the sermons. Hahaa..I can see many friends growing spiritually because of the camp. That's great yea.. God's working. Thanks a lot for Pastor Gideon's sincere sharing.

On our journey back, we stopped by few places to buy things (obviously we hunted for food).I tried few weird food there. Not too weird, just maybe I never saw those food before. There were swirling potato chip with different flavors, giant chicken sausage (well, this isn't so special), fried mushroom, chocolate-coated strawberry, really SWEET sweet corn, sweet potato balls.. Ey, why now I don't find many special food le..? But for sure I was very excited with all these 'new' things that I found when I were there.

Finally, we reached UTP in the evening. I slept in the bus. As I came out of the bus, I was quite down. I kind of feeling like, all our great moment of fellowship would end after this. Maybe it's because that many people would be going back as it's our mid-sem break. Felt quite lonely after that but thank God that some brothers and sisters who are staying back in UTP throughout the mid-sem break keep me accompanied. Praise God.. Really thank Him for this Household of Faith.

I'm looking forward to the next church camp. It's Jesus' camp and it's gonna be exciting!
